Wipro Technologies Employee Referral Policy – 2005-06

The scheme is effective January 1, 2005 and is applicable to all candidates joining after this date. The scheme is applicable to "full time positions" only.

All employees in Wipro Technologies, Wipro Infotech, Wividus and Wipro BPO Services are eligible to participate in the Scheme except employees in TED, Recruitment and Career Group E.

The Scheme

For every joining through referral, the employee referring the candidate is eligible for the following benefits.


1. For Business Development / Account Management (Sales) / Pre-Sales / Program Management / Consulting (Strategy / Management) positions in US, Europe and Japan

Award Policy:


1. Employees from any location can refer candidates.

2. The referral program is open to only employees of Wipro Technologies, Wipro Infotech, Wividus and Wipro BPO Services (except those in TED, Recruitment and Career Group E) and is applicable to "full-time positions" only.

3. All candidates who have received an offer from Wipro Technologies, Wipro Infotech, Wividus and Wipro BPO Services can also participate in the scheme. However, the referring candidate must be on the permanent rolls of the company at the time of joining of the referred candidate to be eligible for the referral benefits.

4. Under this program no benefits will be credited for referring Freshers, Campus hires, Candidates with 24 months and less relevant experience and Contractors / Contract-2-Hires engaged in Wipro.

5. The award will be paid to the employee subject to the condition that the referred candidate works with the company for a minimum period of 90 days.

6. Both the employee entitled to the award and the candidate who joined Wipro should be on the rolls of the company at the time of disbursement of award. Referral payment processing will happen along with the payroll processing for the month.

7. The currency of payment will depend on the payroll location of the employee at the time of eligibility of the referral benefits. The rate of conversion will be the prevailing exchange rate.

8. All referrals to be made online in WipLinks (the Employee Referral system) only through TEDWEB.

9. No credit will be given for referrals outside of WipLinks (the online Employee Referral system) in TEDWEB.

10. Inviting candidates to post their resume will not be deemed as a successful referral if the resume is already available in the Wipro Technologies Recruitment Database or the candidate has posted the resume not using the reference number quoted in the email invite (sent by the employee through the referral system) to post the resume.

11. Employees will get the credit for the referral only if their Online Employee Referral System Report in TEDWEB, reflects them as the source of the referral. The employees will also get a system generated email on successful referral. This will automatically happen when

              i. The Candidate resume is posted successfully by the Employee

             ii.The Candidate posts the resume using the reference number quoted in the email invite (sent by the employee through the referral system) to post the resume. If the resume already exists in the Database, the system will not permit the candidate to use the reference number and repost the resume.

12. Credit for referral of a candidate will be given to the employee for a period of SIX months from the date of posting the candidate's resume. After SIX months, the resume will be deleted from the database if not under process, and the employee will not be eligible for referral benefits.

13. If duplicate referrals occur, the first referral received (based on the date of submission of resume) will be eligible for payment.

14. Employees should not refer candidates who have attended interviews with Wipro Limited in the last SIX months.

15. All employee referral payouts are taxable as per the prevailing tax rates in the country of payment. Taxes will be deducted as per prevailing laws and the balance will be paid.

16. At the time of eligibility of payment, if the employee is on a short-term onsite assignment on B1/Business Visa or equivalent, employee referral payment will be processed only after his/her return to India.

17. Wherever net salary is paid to employees (like US, UK and Japan), provision for taxes at the rates prevailing at the time of payment, will be deducted from the referral payout.
